There are three (3) main ways to program an alarm system:
local
locally monitored
monitored
A Local Alarm System is where:
an alarm condition sets off the internal screamer/s
and external siren
the alarm system automatically resets after five (5) minutes
the sector that went into alarm is required by
law (the Noise Pollution Act) to be automatically isolated
until the alarm system is
reset by “disarming” the alarm panel
A Locally Monitored Alarm System is where:
an alarm condition sets off the internal screamer/s and external
siren
the alarm system automatically resets after five (5) minutes
the sector that went into alarm is required
by law (the Noise Pollution Act) to be automatically
isolated until the alarm system is reset by “disarming” the
alarm panel
the alarm panel notifies two (2) given telephone numbers,
eg: mobile telephone numbers
A Monitored Alarm System is where:
an alarm condition sets off the internal screamer/s and external
siren
the alarm system automatically resets after
five (5) minutes
the sector that went into alarm is not required by
law (the Noise Pollution Act) to be automatically
isolated
the alarm
panel notifies a nominated Monitoring Company who
undertake the organisation of a response to the
premises and subsequent actions if the premises is broken into
