Monitored Alarms

There are three (3) main ways to program an alarm system:

  • local
  • locally monitored
  • monitored

A Local Alarm System is where:

  • an alarm condition sets off the internal screamer/s and external siren
  • the alarm system automatically resets after five (5) minutes
  • the sector that went into alarm is required by law (the Noise Pollution Act) to be automatically isolated until the alarm system is reset by “disarming” the alarm panel

A Locally Monitored Alarm System is where:

  • an alarm condition sets off the internal screamer/s and external siren
  • the alarm system automatically resets after five (5) minutes
  • the sector that went into alarm is required by law (the Noise Pollution Act) to be automatically isolated until the alarm system is reset by “disarming” the alarm panel
  • the alarm panel notifies two (2) given telephone numbers, eg: mobile telephone numbers

A Monitored Alarm System is where:

  • an alarm condition sets off the internal screamer/s and external siren
  • the alarm system automatically resets after five (5) minutes
  • the sector that went into alarm is not required by law (the Noise Pollution Act) to be automatically isolated
  • the alarm panel notifies a nominated Monitoring Company who undertake the organisation of a response to the premises and subsequent actions if the premises is broken into
